Description
Decyl glucoside is a natural, non-ionic surfactant that’s derived from sugar, corn, and coconuts. It’s often used in cleansers and baby products because it’s gentle on the skin and can produce a good amount of foam. Decyl glucoside can also be used as a thickening agent, but adding salt can prevent this.

SafetyDecyl glucoside can irritate the skin if used in pure form. When handling it, you should wear gloves, eye protection, and work in a well-ventilated space. If it gets in your eyes, rinse immediately with clean, warm water
This, combined with its excellent foam properties, makes it ideal choice as a secondary surfactant in body/skin cleansers, bubble baths, and facial cleansers (including wipes).
The appearance of Decyl Glucoside is a viscous, slightly yellow, turbid liquid. In a solution of 10% water, the pH is 11.5 – 12.5. It is tolerant of high electrolyte formulations and compatible with cationic conditioning agents. General usage rates are 2%-10%
