Description

Euxyl K712 is a broad-spectrum liquid preservative designed for use in cosmetic, skincare, and haircare formulations. It protects products from bacteria, yeast, and mold, helping extend shelf life and maintain product stability.

Suitable for both leave-on and rinse-off applications, Euxyl K712 performs well in a wide pH range and is easy to incorporate during the cool-down phase of formulation.

General Information: Euxyl® K 712 is fully effective both in anionic as well as cationic and non-ionic systems.
• Solubility: Completely soluble in water and in most polar organic solvents such as 1,2-propylene glycol, propanol.


Ideal for lotions, creams, serums, toners, gels, and DIY cosmetic products.

Simple DIY Formula Using Euxyl K712 (Hydrating Facial Toner)

Hydrating Facial Toner – 100 g batch

Phase A – Water Phase

  • Distilled water – 88%

  • Glycerin – 5%

  • Aloe vera juice – 5%

  • Panthenol (Vitamin B5) – 1%

Phase B – Preservative

  • Euxyl K712 – 1%

Instructions

  1. In a clean beaker, combine all Phase A ingredients and mix until uniform.

  2. Add Euxyl K712 during the cool-down phase (below 40°C).

  3. Mix well for 1–2 minutes.

  4. Bottle the toner in a clean container.

Notes

  • Check pH and adjust to pH 4.5–5.5 for best preservative performance.

  • Suitable for facial mists, toners, and lightweight hydrating products.

Phase B – Gelling

  • Hydroxyethylcellulose – 1%

Phase C – Preservative

  • Euxyl K712 – 1%

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle gelling agent into water; let hydrate.

  2. Mix until gel forms.

  3. Add niacinamide and panthenol.

  4. Add Euxyl K712 below 40°C.

  5. Adjust pH to 5.0 – 5.5.


DIY Leave-In Hair Mist (100 g)

  • Distilled water – 89%

  • Polyquaternium-7 – 5%

  • Glycerin – 3%

  • Panthenol – 2%

  • Euxyl K712 – 1%

Mix all ingredients, adjust pH to 4.5–5.5, bottle in a spray container.


DIY Aloe Facial Toner (100 g)

  • Aloe vera juice – 80%

  • Rose water – 15%

  • Glycerin – 4%

  • Euxyl K712 – 1%

Mix ingredients; ensure pH stays in the preservative’s working range.
